Transformers Generation Huffer Toyhax Labels review and comparison

Ever go onto the Toyhax website and just see all the pretty stickers and go "I wish I could afford some of these. Awww :( " Well luckily as I was going through the many, many pages I came across a set that I could afford for one of my FAVORITE Transformers of all time Huffermius Prime. Whoops I mean Huffer. I can dream okay!

I hit buy on this set and the Pipes set and got a masterpiece Hot Rod set for a penny. YAY!! But then it hit me Like a wrecking ball.

Do I really want to put stickers on my only copy of generations Huffer?!? Ding!Ding!  Amazon to the rescue. So now with Huffer and the labels in hand lets check ut what differences there are. And are those labels worth the cost.

Buy Your Own Huffer here!

Vehicle Mode

Ok first off Toyhax really needs some instructions for these sets heck any of their sets. A few stickers I couldn't figure out right away by the Huffer product pics. Looking at the Pipes and Optimus Prime product pages , which are variations of the same set, showed me all I needed to know.

Stickers added
Small Autobot sticker: The misprinted Autobot sticker on the front looks good. Just wish it was cut right. Found where this sticker went by looking at the Generations Optimus Product page.
Windshield sticker: The tint is closer to a green. While it looks good I think I prefer the original silverish color. Also, the side of the windshield keeps wanting to pop up. But hey maybe that's why they sell that sticker helper stuff.
Sun Shield stickers: These look really good. I like how it breaks up the whole orange scheme.
Yellow and Black ? Construction? Windvane stickers:  No idea where the idea for these came from. Huffer is not a construction vehicle. I put them on to make the set look complete but I may take them off after I finish this review. Dang it I should have put it on some of my g2 constructicons.

Stickers added
Silver Feet Stickers: I like these. Similar to the sun shield stickers they break up the whole orange scheme. But they also feel incomplete. like maybe they just needed to do a longer sticker to cover up the entire panel of the foot.
White Autobot symbol: These look awesome. Enough said...
Door handle: Looks good as well. Kinda a pain to put on but they work.
Side windows: Ok these look good and the color matches the windshield windows. BUT...... they also seem incomplete. Why leave the blue on the bottom of the window? Why not make an orange piece to cover that up? I understand this was a quick way of reusing the generations Optimus Prime stickers but this makes it feel lazy.
Tire logos: Awesome they help this figure a lot.
Yellow and black wind vane stickers: I still don't understand these? Who came up with this?

Stickers added
Tail lights: Looks great and makes the truck look more realistic.
Silver underfoot stickers: Not sure why they are there but hey they look alright
Y Bothr "License" plate Truck Stop Sticker Sticker: Y did they bothr? It doesn't look like a license plate. It feels like a sticker you buy at a truck station to put on your bumper. Hey, I can just call it that!! Truck stop sticker... uhh sticker!

ROBOT MODE

Only their Momma can tell them apart

Stickers added
Only new one here
Autobot chest symbol: Looks good and covers the lazy symbol Hasbro put on there

I still think my arm looks bigger than yours!

Dang it forgot the legs and crotch piece!!

Herbimus Bumblemus droid to the rescue

Leg Stickers: For some unknown reason they added gray bits onto Huffers legs. No idea why they did this, to be honest. They look ok but they also have the same issues that the windshield stickers have. They raise up on the side that folds over the robots legs. Now I know someone will just say hey you probably had grease on your hands or some bs like that. But the fact is since the mmc female robot stickers that had the same issue. I now use an eraser to prepare the area and only apply the labels using tweezers. So no that is not it.
Crotch Piece: Very G1 looking. I like it

OVERALL

I like this set. I want to love it. But it does feel incomplete and lazy at times. Some of the stickers I just didn't understand why they made them. The whole construction stickers should go on a yellow G2 Constructicons team member. Not Huffer. Now I understand their reasoning:
"Hey quick reuse of an already created set. Let's Do it!"
But at the least put some effort into it. Think about the character the stickers are going onto. That being said I am still happy I purchased the set. It adds enough to make the figure look improved. So that makes it a win. Just have to remove those construction stickers.

Final Score
3 Carltons

What no Obama reference?!?

Unique Toys Mania King Not Transformers Decepticon Galvatron Review

Ahhh Unique toys..... the company that gave us CHUG versions of Predaking, albeit not very good versions, but hey, they tried, right? When I saw their version of Galvatron the pics appealed to me. The bad taste of the quality of the Predaking figures stopped me like a punch to the gut. A failed search for the Botcon "Fireguts Convoy" figure at a cheap price instead showed me a loose Mania King for $60 shipped, so I took that leap off the jagged edge onto the rocky pit of 3rd party greatness. He has finally arrived, so lets see if he was worth the jump!

Read this Review Mortal!

For those of you who only know Galvatron as the bad lego truck that fell apart to "transform" in the last Transformers movie, I have news for you; he was first introduced as a BIG ass laser cannon in the original and better Transformers the animated Movie. Yes folks, it's still better than any of the Michael Bay movies out there. Galvatron was voiced by the late great Leonard Nimoy. Freaking Mr. Spock himself! Nuff said! May he rest in peace.  Ok now with that out of the way. Let's start this review:

Weapon Mode

Beware the sodawater can cannon of death!!

Mania King (aka Galvatron) is a big purple and white laser cannon. A cannon with tank threads, baby!!  The old G1 Decepticon Commander look and feel just oozes out here kiddies, but... isn't this is supposed to be an updated version of this figure? Unfortunately some of the aesthetics of the cannon fail to push "update/upgrade". The weapon looks like an old motor oil can with a spout rammed into it. Okay, did I just show my age?

Yes, folks we had to do this....

Maybe if the barrel was larger it would have given the weapon a more streamlined feel? It just feels wrong and dated, and not a good dated like a redhead with big brains in a nurses uniform. Then there's the whole arms sticking out the back thing. The arms were not incorporated in any way that would explain why the hell they are back there. When I look at it I see a "SEAT". Add in some handles a view screen and Cobra forces could ride this thing like a tank. And yes I NOW know I mis-transformed it a bit by not putting on the back of the laser canon. Damn You, Japanese instructions with terrible pics!! But just imagine a seat and view screen here folks!! It would even work for those tiny crappy movie human alliance figures. I need to also ask why give a figure tank threads if they don't have wheels in the bottom to let the vehicle freaking roll. The original had wheels and that was made in 1986. Come on, pop some wheels in there, damn it!

Check out my butt! You know you like it!

Robot Mode
Whats that to my left? No it's on my Right!

Mania King's transformation is a little weird or wonky as Davestator stated, but once you get it down it is awesome. Not Disco Duck awesome, mind you, but at least Ms. Jackson awesome. The figure is very clean and compacted once done.  No real kibble sticking out of him, an amazing feat for a voyager sized figure. Disco, Disco Duck!!

No really please do...

Articulation wise: the head is on a ball joint. shoulders and waist are ratcheted. Elbows, upper biceps, knees, and hips are on a static joint. Weird thing on the hips is that it looks like it could have been a ratchet joint but they chose to go in a different direction. Sadly, Unique Toys dropped the ball on one area where a mushroom joint would have helped immensely; the hands. The action figure's hands are set in place, which forces the figure's arms to be set in a side position so that the hands look correct. The limited usage of the hands just hinders this cool figure. A simple swivel joint on the upper arm or wrist of this toy would have helped considerably. Instead of making it look like the figure is begging for more....
Can Mania King some more sir?

The cannon, while cool looking, is a sad excuse for a cannon. Why not pop a clear yellow cannon and LED in there and make it awesome? Hell, the cannon is big enough to fit one of those cheap dollar store LED flashlights in there. Just WEAK, Unique toys, WEAK!!

OVERALL

Unique Toys, you have come a long way. Mania King is a testament to that. Unfortunately, there are still a few slight stumbles that have hindered this figure. The biggest one is the hands. The colors rock. The articulation is "good enough-ish". The plastic is several levels above the stuff used for your Predaking guys. Improvements all over. This Decepticon shows that you care enough to make your product better. Are you there yet? Do you belong to the upper echelon of 3rd party creators. No. Can you get there? I think you can. Now, can I recommend him? Yes, this figure is awesome enough to warrant the purchase. He belongs right in there with your CHUG collection battling the heroic Rodimus Prime and his Autobots. Just be aware he will have limitations and things a good customizer can fix.

I give him 4 out of 5 Carlton. Would have been 3.5 but I didn't have it in me to cut poor Carlton in half dammit. I'm sure it would hurt him. And we all love Carlton too much to do that!!

You can get your own here:

Come here,... No really Come here!!

Takara Tomy Dispensor AD11 Transformers Movie Advanced Series Review

SO there I was watching the weather report like I do EVERY night

My lovely wife out of the blue decided it would be a good time for me to do another review. I guess she hates the mention of rain?So up today is Dispensor, or is it Disenser?  I know!  Let's look at his bio, shall we?

So I guess both??!?  Dispensor is a repaint of transformers Payload. He is Takara/Tomy's answer to the soda water machine that came to life in the first Transformers movie, except he's a truck.. When I first saw this figure online I just felt the need to play with it. I am sure we have all had that feeling of "I just gotta play with those" before:

So let's check out this Decepticon, shall we?

Vehicle Mode

If you climb on top of my roof
you can buy yourself a smooth whiplash soda water for $5.

Dispensor is a green delivery truck with Mood Whiplash soda advertising all over it, albeit a soda truck with a battering ram bumper!!While it makes sense on a decepticon I doubt any humans would find it as norm.

Run Coke Vendor!! Run!!

On top of the truck, there is a soda dispenser so that you too can get your can of Mood Whiplash citrus soda, the soda with kick....and possibly small robot bits.  It's a shame that the truck can not stand upright for the figure to be used as a soda machine. Maybe a stand of some sort could have been added?

Available in 14 flavors!!

Makes me wish Toyhax (aka Reprolabels) would make some Mountain Dew and Dr. Pepper labels for this bad boy.  I mean we all know that's who they were shooting for when they designed it. The vehicle mode of this bot works. It looks good and surprisingly  it rolls quite well. On the roll test it went a good 3 ft before I threw a pillow at it to stop it.

Robot Mode

You wish you had Panel wings like me.

Dispenser has BACK!! When I saw him on Amazon the product picture looked all cool and compact. I noticed he arrived packaged in truck mode. Once transformed a big pole stuck in his uhhh back showed it's evil face. Ahh, you have to love Photoshopped product pictures!  Aren't they grand?

This bot is an accident waiting to happen. Turns around and knocks out 14 decepticons. Kinda like my aunt Flacca who knocks down any stuff at desk level when she turns..... This pole has a second usage, it becomes his attacking Claw Pole of DEAAAAATTTHHHH.

Come on we almost got that teddy bear that time.

I guess I can understand it, but honestly, is it really needed? Do you really need a bot that reminds you of Spaceballs (4 stars Great Movie)?

Articulation wise Dispensor has a swiveled head, upper arm joint, and waist. His shoulders and hips are on a ball joint. He also bends at both his knees and elbows. All which add up to a pretty articulated figure. If only it wasn't hindered by that slagging pole. Thank God he comes with an awesome soda water can cannon to make all his issues disappear......

So Autobot, Diet or Regular can of Destruction?

I've fallen and that pole stuck in more.....whimper.....

Overall

Well at least I got him on clearance. This action figure is ok, would be close to perfect if it didn't have that stinking pole. In the end, (get what I did there?) it doesn't add enough for it to be in there.  It's a hinderance to the figure.  Now I do wish Reprolabels would make replacement can stickers for this figure, but we are still also waiting on our Impossible Toys Bumblebee set stickers. It really is a good figure that the designers messed up by trying to add too much. Sometimes less is more people less is more.... Honestly you wouldn't miss too much if you pass on this toy.

I give him 3 Carltons

Want one get him here!

Ok this is not a side effect from drinking
Mood Whiplash Cola!

You talking to me?

Eat Can scum!!

Can't take this pole anywhere!

And now back to the weather....

"Mood Whiplash Cola gives me pep in my step and that extra bounce
I need to get through my day!"
